Welcome to the Kawartha Kennel Club Online
Originally known as the Trent Valley Kennel Club in the 1930's; the Club's function was the promotion of purebred dogs in the Peterborough area. This continued until the second World War when the Club ceased to operate. It wasn't until 1956-57 that it was reactivated and renamed the Kawartha Kennel Club. The goal of the club was, and continues to be, to further an interest in purebred dogs, by encouraging responsible, ethical showing and breeding practices. Some of the venues for our shows and obedience trials have included Quaker Park, Lakefield Fairgrounds, Devils Elbow, and most recently Nichols Oval.
Our shows take place each year, beginning on the Friday of the July long weekend and winding up on the Monday. The weekend's festivities include one Championship show each day and several independent breed specialties spread throughout the weekend. Our shows are open to the public where they can see and meet a wide variety of dogs and breeders from both Canada and the United States.
For information related to our shows, including premium lists, schedules and event results, maps and directions to our show site located at Nichols Oval Park in the beautiful city of Peterborough, Ontario, as well as points of interest around the city, follow the links to the left.
